What happens during a Reiki session?
During a Reiki session, the recipient remains fully clothed, comfortably reclining on a massage couch or seated in a chair. The practitioner will place their hands on the recipient in various positions. Some practitioners use a non-touching technique where the hands are held a few centimetres away from the recipient’s body. The hands are usually kept still for a few minutes before moving to the next position, giving a general coverage of the head, the torso, knees and feet. These positions are never personally invasive and practitioners are always respectful of dignity and privacy.
